Esquire’s Creamed Spinach

Esquire’s Creamed Spinach

My coworker bought the Eat Like a Man: The Only Cookbook a Man Will Ever Need
cookbook for her husband, but I had the pleasure of looking through it first! I ordered it a few weeks later along with a Jamie Oliver and Michael Smith cookbook. It ranges from easy recipes to ones that take a long time. They provides a difficulty rating for each recipe. It also has lots of tips on cooking, and stories by many celebrity chefs.

Zephyr Cafe

On our way to Whistler Bungee for Beipas’ birthday jump we stopped by Zephyr Cafe in Squamish. It seemed like a pretty popular place as it was filled. It’s also known for its vegetarian options, but it wasn’t a completely vegetarian restaurant.

Gorilla Food

Vegan, vegetarian, I don’t really know the difference. As long as it’s meatless, I am all for it on the days where all I want to eat is vegetables. Gorilla Food is probably the first vegan restaurant I visited in Vancouver.

Ever since I had a great vegetarian meal at The Coup in Calgary, I have been on the hunt for an equally awesome vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. After getting some recommendations, I visited the Foundation on Main street.

Butternut Squash Soup

This is the second recipe from my friend’s dinner party this past weekend. I want to thank my friend again for sharing her recipes. She made a Spinach and Ham Quiche and we had Butternut Squash Soup for appetizer. The soup was a really good appetizer. It was not a boring butternut squash soup, and to my surprise, it had a blend of different spices. Nice soup to start off the meal.

I made this salad without a recipe, but it was kinda influenced by my meal at the Edge. I really like this salad a lot, and I’ve actually made it for my parents this week and they liked it also. It may seem a little bit weird, but I think everyone who has tried has liked it.

Roasted Veggie Panini with Focaccia bread

Roasted Veggie Panini with Focaccia bread

Level: Easy

Last weekend, we had a team lunch, and I made Roasted Vegetable Paninis. The paninis were fairly easy to make, and it is really quick if you already have left over roasted vegetables. I sort of started everything from scratch, and got the ingredients by thinking what would taste good together, and it turned out to be pretty delicious. Hope you’ll enjoy this recipe as well.
