While visiting the amazing Bondi Beach, we wanted to eat right by the water. We were just craving some sandwiches and fries, so we decided to eat at Lush on Bondi. It’s sandwich shop with plenty of out door seating to enjoy the incredible beach and weather.
I never heard of DD Mau until a couple weeks ago until Dee & my friends kept going on and on about DD Mau on our walk to Minami for dinner. I thought it was some kind of inside joke because DD Mau sounds kind of funny when it’s said repeatedly, but it turned out to be a real vietnamese sandwich shop in Yaletown. A few days later, I was back here to grab a quick bite with my friends.
I’ve been meaning to find more places to eat between Bellingham and Seattle for a while. Last weekend I was heading down to Seattle again, and found Grinders Hot Sands in Lynnwood.
Before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, I was looking for a quick place to grab a bite to eat so I can make it to Rogers Arena pretty early to watch the Canucks pregame warmups. My coworker reminded me of Dunn’s Famous and their Montreal Smoked Meat.

For our lunch, we split a large Montreal smoked meat sandwich called ‘The Montreal‘, a smoked meat chili, and a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of home made sauerkraut.
After a day of boarding in Whistler, we looked for a place to eat in Squamish on the way home. So there’s a new restaurant in Vancouver that specializes american cheesesteak sandwich, cool! Not sure why this is a novelty for me, probably from watching too much food tv but I was excited about The American Cheesesteak Co.
I’ve been wanting to come to Chez Mem Baguette Bistro for a long time. I’ve read very nice things about them. I also heard that this small place gets extremely busy, and that you are almost guaranteed to wait. On top of that, the location is really of out of my way, so I’d have to go there just for the food.
I first heard about Paseo from a friend when I visited L.A. It was late after a day of surfing, and we somehow ended up watching a youtube video of this TLC food show. About 20 seconds in the video, there was my friend, on the show, eating the magical cuban sandwich the show was featuring.
Yesterday morning I woke up to a message from a friend who raved about these sandwiches that he had tried the night before, and that I must go and try them myself. I happened to be in the Hubbub Sandwiches hood yesterday, so I decided to go there for lunch.
This sandwich joint is super new. The decore was simple, modern, and fun. They also had really good taste in music, I already liked the place before I tried the sandwiches.
I love sandwiches. Sometimes when I don’t feel so awesome, eating a really yummy sandwich could cheer me up. This week we finally made it to the new Be ‘wiched Cafe in Surrey.
