Jamie Oliver’s Cherry Tomato Sauce with Cheat’s Fresh Pasta Recipe

April 18, 2013

After an early day at the driving range Beipas wanted to make a quick lunch while she was baking the Strawberry Crumble bars. I quickly looked through Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution cookbook. His Cherry Tomato Sauce with Cheat’s Fresh Pasta recipe seemed really simple, with just a few ingredients that we needed to purchase.

Another weekend, another dinner in Bellingham. I was craving pasta, so we decided on trying D’Anna Cafe Italiano. When we got there, it was quite busy, and we had to wait for about an hour to be seated. It smelled awesome in there though, so we had to stay and wait it out.

Carmine’s is an old school family-style Italian restaurant with two locations in New York. We visited the Time Square location, and it is a huge space, but still very busy late at night. I originally removed it from my original wish list because I found out they serve the pasta family-style. Basically, I thought it wouldn’t give us much variation or choice.

Jamie Oliver’s Summer Veg Lasagne

Few weeks ago we had another team meal, this time it was Jamie Oliver’s Summer Veg Lasagne. This was a quick meal compared to the other ones we tried out. I was most impressed by the mango frozen ice cream that we made in just 1 minute, really, fresh ice cream in 1 minute.

On our first meal at Whistler this past weekend we ate at Pasta Lupino. It’s a pretty small Italian restaurant but it seemed like a fairly popular place. It’s not too expensive (for Whistler) at about $15 for their entrees during dinner time. Lunch time is quite a bit cheaper, but I’m not sure what the difference in portion sizes are.

We were one of the many bloggers invited to The Mac Shack‘s media event to have a taste of their menu and drinks. It was a fun night and before I know it, I already had 8 different kinds of mac and cheeses, 1 mac and cheese sandwich and 2 desserts, a carbs loading night for sure.

Italian Kitchen is one of the last few Glowbal Group restaurants that MePlusFood hasn’t been to yet. We just need to go to Coast and the newly opened Black and Blue. This is the more expensive version of their other Italian restaurant, Trattoria, on West 4th, with Pastas ranging from about $16 – 25.

Here is a recipe for a baked pasta with pork sausage and eggplants from Tyler Florence’s cook book. This was a very rich and meaty pasta, it’s very comforting, perfect for this time of the year.
