Before a Canucks hockey game last week, we decided to finally try out La Casita in Gastown. We were able to have a quick meal before the game. The service seemed a bit scattered, and I know for sure that they sent our food to the wrong table at first.
Jawz Tacos is a food truck, that we spotted while beach hopping Maui. We saw a couple different trucks, and decided to grab some food on the way back. It was pretty late in the day so their menu was a bit limited. Luckily we got there early, because only one other group was able to place an order.
While waiting for a seat at the Screendoor, we decided to walk up Burnside to see what else was around there. We walked past Casa Del Matador, but ended up coming back to it. We just wanted something quick because we were going to be eating again soon.
I found out about Taqueria Jalisco from a quick search on Yelp when I needed a spot to go for lunch, and what a find this place was! I can’t believe all this time, we have an awesome and authentic mexican restaurant right in Surrey.
During the dinner at Cosca, I was complaining that there aren’t enough good Mexican restaurants in Vancouver. Sherman, being the #1 food blogger in Vancouver highly recommended Taqueria Playa Tropical in New West, so off I went.
Agave Grill is a Mexican restaurant just off 200th Street in Langley. Actually, this was another second choice because we wanted to try Aaron’s Pizza, but they had a closed event that night. The restaurant was pretty empty besides two tables the time we went, but still we had to wait 5 minutes for them to clean off a table. One of my friends actually doesn’t like Mexican food much because it always seems the same.

Their dine out menu was only $18 and it included my Scallop Ceviche appetizer, Crab Enchilada main, and Churros dessert. It was a pretty good deal.

Hernande’z is the top rated restaurant in Victoria on Urban Spoon, so I had to visit it on my trip last weekend. I visited their website and there are huge warnings for people with peanut allergies. Supposedly there could be peanuts in everything because they push out food fast, and peanuts may get into the food. Sucks for me =(.. but I took one for the team, and risked my life to try possibly the best tacos in BC.
I was looking for a quick lunch in Vancouver, and my friend suggested that we’d go to Best Burrito, a place he discovered recently. The menu was really simple, I ordered a Chicken Burrito ($8) and watch the owner made it in front of me.
Last week we had a birthday dinner at Cobre in Gastown. After eating there, I thought it was a Mexican fusion restaurant, however according to their website it was a fusion of Argentinian, Cuban, Brazilian and Mexican.
After a VERY long day of shopping in the USA this past weekend, I just found out that my friend really likes Mexican food. Being in Washington, I knew there were a lot of Mexican restaurants around, but being about 9PM, I wasn’t sure what was open.
