Hardware Societe was my friend’s must-visit restaurant in Melbourne. It was on my wishlist too, so before meeting up with our friend we decided to have brunch. We later found out that our friend was able to meet up earlier than expected for a second brunch at his favourite place.
We’ve been to quite a few of the Tom Douglas restaurants in Seattle over the past couple years, and have loved each one of them. This time we needed a place to eat for brunch, and Dahlia Lounge was surprisingly available.
On the second day of our Portland trip, we had a very nice breakfast at Bijou Cafe.
I think they are famous for their Roast beef hash, but I absolutely loved their Oyster omelette.
Crepe Montagne was high on our list of places to eat but they are only open during breakfast and brunch. We stopped before we left Whistler to get back to reality. The place wasn’t busy at all, although it was a Monday morning.

This restaurant was a lot bigger than I expected. Walking I immediately saw a big fruit bar right by the door. Every item on the menu had either some fresh fruit or lots of fresh fruit, totally my kind of breakfast.
Two chefs and a table is a catering company in Gastown that opens for brunch only on weekends. This was one of the many restaurants that I make an effort to go just to try their food.

This restaurant is a charming breakfast place located in the downtown area in Salem, Oregon USA. Our group arrived late afternoon hoping to grab a hearty breakfast before we hit up another leg of our road trip to Portland.
Recently, my friends and I have been talking about grabbing a hearty breakfast at De Dutch Pannekoek House before we head to snowboarding. That plan didn’t work out because they don’t open early enough (8am) for us to eat and make it to the mountains on time, so we went on a off snowboarding day instead.
Our last breakfast stop in San Francisco was at Brenda’s French Soul Food. We’ve been wanting to go to this place for breakfast the whole time we were there, but every time we called around 10am there’d be at least an hour wait. On our last day there, we decided to just go at 8am, and we got our seats right away.
My first brunch in San Francisco was at Farmerbrown. This was one of the few breakfast restaurants we wanted to visit because of good ratings.
This place was clearly a popular place to be. It was not until we sat down that we found out that this was an all you can eat buffet bar. There was also a regular menu for people who doesn’t want the buffet.
The last time we were in Seattle, we visited Toulouse Petit for some brunch. This was a very popular restaurant, and we were really lucky that we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table on a Sunday.
