Alpha Global is a small little Sushi/Izakaya restaurant slightly off of the heart of Yaletown. I actually haven’t even noticed this place, but I decided to go here for my birthday dinner with my friends. I made a reservation for 12 a week before, and they asked if I could provide them with a list of things we’d want to order because they have a small kitchen and would like to prep some of the food before hand.
A few weeks ago we went skydiving in Abbotsford. It was crazy fun, but it ended a lot earlier than we expected, and we decided to stay in Abbotsford for lunch. What’s there to eat in Abbotsford besides Ah-Beetz Pizza? A quick search on the iPhone lead us to Hi Lunch Box Japanese. Japanese food in Abbotsford? I know, we were a pretty skeptical at first, until we had their sushi.
August 18th was Pirate Pak day at all White Spots. On that special day, adults could order their own Pirate Paks, something normally reserved for children 10 and under. Adults had their choice of a Legendary Burger, Chicken Burger, or Veggie Burger.
Jack’s Pub took over the old Kelly O’Bryan’s location on 152nd and Fraser Hwy in Surrey. It’s been a while since Kelly O’Bryan’s moved to Kelowna, and I haven’t been to Jack’s Pub since they moved in. I went with mom and dad after work last week. We walked in and were waiting to be seated, after a few seconds someone at the front, possibly the owner, said sit anywhere. That was kinda weird… then again it is a Pub.
I finally went to the Hub last week before watching Cirque Du Soleil Kooza. I had a Good News Vancouver coupon good for $40 at the Hub. Once we got there, we realized it was also happy hour so all of the appetizers were only $6! Yes even the Lobster Wings which are normally $14. The patio was packed by the time we got there at 5:30 PM on a Friday. So we got seats in the front. I just remembered that this place used to be a Brown’s which I’ve been to when I was working in Yaletown. It still looks the same inside from what I remember.
Akari is a Sushi Place near Scott Rd and 72nd Ave in Surrey’s Newton area. It’s pretty much right across the street from Strawberry Hill. I swear I have been here before, but I’m not too sure. Maybe I’ve just been in the area a few times.
After a couple pizza reviews on MePlusFood, we got quite a few responses from other food bloggers telling us to go try Ah-Beez pizza in Abbotsford. Abbotsford is quite a drive out, but we finally set out minds and made it to Ah-Beetz a couple weeks ago.
Day 4 of Vancouver Dine Out 2010 we visited Zakkushi Charcoal Grill on Main street. I was really excited about going here because their dine out menu sounded really delicious and also I have heard good things about them. I went with 4 other people, and for the 3 course meal, 4 of us got exactly the same things except for Dee, the one person who is allergic to seafood. Dine Out at Zakkushi is $28 dollars.
Walking down Davie Street you’ll find many, many sushi restaurants. I was intending to go to a different sushi place, but it was full so I just walked literally two doors down and came across Tokyo Miyako. The restaurant was empty which had me a bit concerned, but I was hungry so was willing to take the risk. An empty restaurant means you’ll get seated immediately and likely to get food fast, right?
I was out having dinner with a couple friends one night, and instead of getting an after-the-meal coffee, they brought me to Pekoe Tea Lounge to get some tea instead.
Last week I was invited to a birthday dinner and the birthday girl decided to dine at the Banana Leaf at Kitsilano. I’ve been to this Banana Leaf location several times when I was still a student. It was one of my favorite places to treat myself a nice dinner.
After I wrote a review on Yogen Früz I got a lot of responses saying Qoola Frozen Yogurt + Fruit is a better place to go for frozen yogurts. So, on a very unproductive shopping day, I went to Qoola to comfort myself with some frozen dessert.
