Healthy Monkey

Healthy Monkey is a little cafe in South Surrey serving organic deli and super foods. Interested in seeing what they got, I made my way out there for brunch.

I’ve been wanting to make my own muesli for a while, especially after my Europe trip where I had one of the best mueslis I’ve ever had.

I never knew Bellingham had an actually downtown area until we stopped by Harris Avenue Cafe for breakfast on our way down to Portland. This area has a few restaurants, including Katie’s cupcakes.

The wallflower is a diner in Mount Pleasant. At 9 am my friend and I were here for a much needed breakfast.
I had the $8 omelette with my choice of 3 toppings: avocado or ‘avo’ according to the waitress, tomato, and mushrooms. The breakfast came with house salad, hash brown and toast.

Last day of our Portland trip we stopped by Tin Shed Garden Cafe for breakfast. This restaurant was very dog friendly and serves up local and organic foods.

Homegrown is an organic breakfast and sandwich spot in Capitol Hill, Seattle. We were here for a quick breakfast before heading out for a drive down to Portland.

On the second day of our Portland trip, we had a very nice breakfast at Bijou Cafe.
I think they are famous for their Roast beef hash, but I absolutely loved their Oyster omelette.

On our way home from a Cannon Beach camping trip, we stopped off at Pig ‘n Pancake in Seaside. This place was really busy, and we were seated after about a 10 minute wait. I’m on a new diet, and lucky for me I saw that they had gluten-free pancakes on their menu. Their menu is quite large with lots of options.

I went on a camping trip to Cannon beach last weekend, but before we hit the 4 hour drive, we went for breakfast at Glo’s in Seattle.

On Easter Sunday, a few friends and visited Cora Breakfast & Lunch for breakfast to start our board games day off.
This restaurant was a lot bigger than I expected. Walking I immediately saw a big fruit bar right by the door. Every item on the menu had either some fresh fruit or lots of fresh fruit, totally my kind of breakfast.

Another breakfast in New Westminster! This time was at Amelia Cafe.
I ordered the breakfast special number 1, which was the usual 2 eggs, hash brown, sausage and toast. This was a solid breakfast. My eggs were cooked perfectly at over medium, there was a lot of crispy hash brown, and there were 3 sausages. Nothing was overly greasy, sausages were surprisingly good. And all this was just under $5.

A few Sunday mornings ago I had breakfast at the Waffle House in New Westminster.
To get the best of sweet and savoury breakfast worlds, I decided to get the Big Waffle Breakfast. The breakfast came with a waffle, 2 eggs, ham and toast. The waffles here were quite thin and didn’t have a lot of flavour. For a place called the waffle house, it was a let down. My eggs were very buttery, there were a lot of residual grease on my ham and plate. Three words to sum up my meal, greasy, bland, and salty (ham).
