Bouchon in Napa Valley, was one of my favourite birthday’s ever. The next morning, we went back just to have some pastries from their bakery. I was happy to see that there were a couple of Bouchon Bakery locations in Manhattan as well.
The first time I tried Diplomat Bakery, was when my brother brought home some of their Blueberry Cheesecake a few years ago, and I thought it was delicious. One of the best cakes I ever had at the time. I really wanted to go back, but never made the time out to go to Steveston. After high tea at Adorabelle, we made our way over to Diplomat since we were kind of close by. It’s a really popular place for cyclists to have a snack.
McJac’s Roadhouse Grille was one of three choices I gave my friend for brunch in BC. She chose this one, because of the distance and the time we had. McJac’s is kind of in the middle of nowhere along King George Hwy in South Surrey.
My coworker introduced me to Tung Hing a while ago when she was craving Banh Mi. Lucky for me she went during lunch, and grabbed some Vietnamese sandwiches and gave one to me. She’s raved about this place before, and is her favourite.

My friend brought me to this tiny bagel shop earlier this year to pick up some bagels. While in the shop he was super excited about getting their cream cheese, curious me, I got some too. Ever since then, I never went back to philadelphia cream cheese.
I was first introduced to Thierry Patisserie by a friend. She was telling me that this french pastry shop has amazing macaron and how they have real fruit inside some of the fruit flavoured macarons such as blackberry and raspberry.
We visited Bouchon Bakery on our last day in Napa Valley. We were there to grab a quick breakfast before leaving for the airport.
Tartine Bakery was on my list of places to visit for breakfast/brunch, but we actually only got up early enough one time. We walked by Tartine Bakery by accident actually, and it was closing time. Since I only tried a couple small things I’m not going to provide a rating.
I first visited Dahlia Bakery on New Years day this year. I grabbed a breakfast sandwich there, and since then this has been the must stop shop for me when I visit Seattle.
I’ve had quite an afternoon tea weekend, one home made with friends and one at Faubourg in Kerrisdale.
Faubourg bakery is super busy on weekends. When we tried to make a reservation for high tea, we were instructed to leave a voicemail to make the reservation. We didn’t get any phone calls back, but we went anyway. We ended up waiting for an hour and a half for a table for high tea.

My friend and I visited the bakery to for those monster cookie sandwiches. We knew we wanted their Chocolate Sandwiches (a.k.a homemade Oreo) and their Peanut Butter Sandwiches, and knowing us, how can we really walk away from a bakery with just cookie sandwiches. We also got a Pecan Bar, a Hello Dolly Bar, and a Coconut & Pineapple Scone.
We were wanting some cupcakes and when we did a search, we found quite a bit. However, we ended up going to Pink Sugar Cupcakery that we found as we were walking around Downtown Victoria. It’s a pretty small shop, and the girls working were just surfing on their computer. It didn’t seem very busy at all.
