Yogen Früz healthy but mild in taste

I’ve walked past by Yogen Früz every time I visit Metrotown. There’s something about this place that never really intrigue me enough to go try their frozen yogurt. I don’t really know what it is yet.

Anyways, my friends stopped by here because it was the closest dessert place to us at the time. For first time visitors, it could take a while to understand the whole ordering process, even though there was a 3-step instruction right at the displaying glass.

The steps were: Pick a size (S, M L), Pick a Yogurt flavor, and Pick a fruit to blend it with. Easy enough right? but what if I want some of the toppings they displayed on their counter too? Like almonds, gummy bears or just extra fruits on top? Where’s the pricing on those? What if I want more than 1 type of fruit to blend in my yogurt? So simple, yet so difficult. It took us a good 3 minutes standing there just trying to figure out how it works, luckily there weren’t anyone behind us. But we did felt pressured by the staff as they assumed we knew what was going on.

My friends got one medium Mixed Berries mix, and one small Mango mix. The presentation of them were nothing special. It was not hard to have the word ‘poo’ pop into your head when you look at them, but that’s kind of the same with most ice creams that twirls around like that.

The taste of them were rather mild. They were not really sweet because there were no sugar added. The Mixed Berries had a lot more flavor than the Mango. The mango was actually bland for me. I was expecting to taste more of the fruits. With about 120 calories per small cup, they were a healthier choice than regular ice creams, however, not as satisfying. Not sure if I’ll ever go back again.
