Viet Sub, cheap eats on Robson

Viet Sub was our first stop on our first food walk expedition, what a place to start off the food walk!

This place is tiny, but it sells quite a few items from Vietnamese Subs, to Pho, to varies salad rolls. We decided to try a couple of their subs: Deep Fried Pork Sub and their Special Sub ($3.75).

The Special Sub had Vietnamese ham, meat balls and cold cuts. This sub was very flavorful because it had a sauce to coat the meats. The sauce was a little sweet, it was really yummy. When I bit on my sub, I got a nice crusty sound from the bread. Fresh bread, very nice.

The Deep Fried Pork Sub was really tasty too. The deep fried pork was made fresh, it was topped with Vietnamese pickled carrots, and daikon. It did get a little dry for me. There was a orange creamy sauce on the counter, that I wasn’t sure what it was, but I drizzled quite a bit of it on my pork sub. The sauce had a subtle taste, it had a little hint of spiciness, good with the sub in general.

Another thing I liked about the subs was they had a lot of fresh cilantro on top. I love cilantro.

The people here were super nice, friendly and had a lot of positive energy. If you visit them a couple times, the owner would recognize you as he recognized my friend. Great spot to get a cheap lunch, snack, dinner.

Note: 5 dollar minimum on VISA use. Free hot tea if you eat in. Limited seating.

The sandwiches were good, and the sauce was good too. And the workers were really nice (even though I spilled my tea all over the counter :S).

Anyways, you forgot about his blatant attempt to make us dine-in so that people could see us eating through the window so it would look busy and good. It was good though!

    I’d be back for more

Went there for the first time today and regret not going sooner! The special sub was soooooo delicious – i loved their sauce. Even though I had to wait for my number to be called it didn’t take as long as I thought ~ Definitely going back for more!
