Two chefs and a table is a catering company in Gastown that opens for brunch only on weekends. This was one of the many restaurants that I make an effort to go just to try their food.
We arrived around 11:30 AM on a Sunday and ended up waiting for 45mins-1 hour for a table of 5. We waited this long because: 1. they are really popular, people never stopped coming in, and 2, it’s a tiny place and they really had 1 table that could fit 5 people, the rest are 2 seaters.
I ordered the very delicious Big Lou’s Breakfast with home made sausage, ham, potatoes, toast, pancake, and 2 over medium eggs. I liked the variety of things on this breakfast. The sausage was great. It was moist and had lots of herbs. The ham was also good but there were some dry ends. My pancake had slices of apples which was really nice, because it wasn’t the usual buttermilk pancake.
Another breakfast I liked a lot was the Monsieur Andre. It was sour dough with daily cold cuts, hollandaise and over easy egg. The creamy hollandaise made it very very flavourful.
The food itself was definitely worth trip. And even though the wait was so long, our hostest was really on top of things and did a great job taking care of us. I would visit them more for bunch if I lived closer to the area.
