It’s been a while since I’ve had dim sum with my gang, not sure why, but we definitely need to have it more. This time we checked out Top Gun J&C in Richmond.
This restaurant was quiet for Chinese restaurant standards, and somewhat fancy. Our usual dim sum suspects, shrimp dumpling, sui mai, and chinese donuts in rice wrap were delicious.
One item I liked a lot and never had before was the scallops and mushrooms in rice wrap dish. The scallops were in big chunks and it was very nice with the mushrooms.
The chicken feet or “Phoenix claws” in fancy terms, is something I don’t enjoy all the time, but they did a pretty good job with it here. The sauce were sweet with a hint of spiciness, and the meat was very soft with little effort to take it off the bones.
As for the desserts, the egg tarts are the way to go here. They were nice, warm and buttery. They were better than the mochi dessert we got.
This was a nice and relaxing place to go for dim sum. Like I said, it was quiet and clean for dim sum standards. Parking here sucks though, as there were only a few spots in the tiny parking lot, we had to pay for street parking.
