The wallflower is a diner in Mount Pleasant. At 9 am my friend and I were here for a much needed breakfast.
I had the $8 omelette with my choice of 3 toppings: avocado or ‘avo’ according to the waitress, tomato, and mushrooms. The breakfast came with house salad, hash brown and toast.
I usually like to start my meal with the salad, and was really glad that the salad was nice and fresh, especially when I just experienced bad salad from Catch 122. I really liked the sweet dijon vinaigrette as well. As for the omelette, it was also delicious. The eggs were fluffy, the mushrooms were done nicely, tomato and ‘avo’ were super fresh too.
My friend had the daily special, benny with smoked meat. The hollandaise sauce was quite interesting because it was made with dijon mustard, and instead of a pungent mustard flavor, it was sweet like the salad dressing.
This diner was not a greasy spoon joint, at least from the what I had. They also have a gluten-free menu.
