I spent last weekend reuniting with a friend from LA in Seattle, and we did a few touristy things like visiting the Great Wheel, and walking around Pike Place Market. While at Pike Place Market, my friend mentioned that the last time she was in town, she had Piroshky Piroshky during her Seattle food tour and was pretty great. So we stood and waited in the long line, and got all of the featured items and some more.
There were 2 savoury featured items, the first one I went for was the Smaoked Salmon Pate. This was super tasty, with the perfect amount of bread and filling ratio, very flavourful and yummy.
The second featured item was the Beef and Cheese Piroshky. It was also very tasty with just the right amount of cheese.
We also ordered a Bavarian Sausage Roll. The pastry on this was very nice, buttery and flakey.
On the sweet side, the featured item here was the Apple roll. This was like a very solid cinnamon bun with real apple slices. The bread was very dense, and the outside was nice and sticky.
The best sweet pastry of the day was the Marzipan. We were lucky to get this fresh out of the oven as we we paying, and it was extra delicious warm. This Piroshky had a really thick layer of almond paste, but surprisingly not too sweet.
Another sweet pastry we got was the Russian Roll with Bavarian Cream. Honestly, I was way to full by the time I got to this. Not quite remember what exactly it tasted like, but it was good for sure.
To be honest, I was skeptical of how good the food here could be because it was located in super touristy town. But this place lived up to its hype 100%. The Smoked Salmon and Beef & Cheese Piroshkies are the must get here.
