Pho Hoang
Pho Hoang on Main is my friends’ go to place for pho. We ended up having dinner here because our plan to dine at Phnom Penh failed.
I ordered a medium Rare Steak and Beef balls pho which came in a darker looking broth than what I’m used to. It looks dark, but the broth was surprisingly light and borderline bland. There were a couple pieces of daikon in it too which is another item I don’t usually see in phos. The noodles itself were cooked perfectly, and there was a lot of it. They needed a bit more meat to balance the meat to noodles ratio.
3 of my friends got rice dishes instead of pho here. After trying their lemon grass chicken and pork, I’d have to say they are much more flavourful and satisfying then the pho I got here. Both the chicken and pork had great flavour from the grilling. I’d say their strength is the rice dishes and for the pho itself, it was nothing special rather forgettable.
