I’ll be honest – I’m not that big of a fan of Nando’s Chicken. One of my friends really over hypes it, and it wasn’t that good the handful of times I’ve tried it recently. I think it’s kind of expensive for what it is. Anyway, there’s one just outside my office building. My 2011 Entertainment Book was expiring soon, and I honestly haven’t made much use of it, so I decided to use the Nando’s coupon before it expires on November 1.
I used the deal for two-two leg meals with regular sides. Me and my brother both chose medium spicy, with peri fries and two bottled ice teas. The total still came to $23, which seemed like quite a bit given we had a coupon.
The chicken came out and it looked different from what I’m used to. This time, the peri sauce was just poured on top rather than cooked and basted with it. I’m not used to seeing so much sauce on top of it. The taste was pretty good and the chicken was pretty juicy except for the overly charred bits here and there. The sieze of the chicken legs were not that big too.
Overall, I’ve eaten at Nando’s about 10 times in my life and from what I remember, the last 3-4 visits haven’t been very good (or maybe just over hyped by my friend). I do like their peri sauces, and you can buy them and use them it at home.
