Han Ju Tofu Hot Pot
I work right by Crystal Mall, and walking past Han Ju Tofu Hot Pot during lunch time, this place is always busy. There’s usually a line up of people. Me and a coworker finally got to try it on a warm summer day. I guess Hot Pot isn’t so popular when it’s boiling hot outside.
It wasn’t very busy on the day we went. I ordered the Korean Style BBQ bowl which came rice, spicy tofu, pork, egg, bok choy, and cabbage. The tofu was soft, and spicy, though could’ve used a bit more heat for me. I guess I’ll order very spicy next time. The pork was tender and flavourful, and the egg was cooked til the yolk was hard, which I liked. It also came with a nice broth that wasn’t too salty. Overall it was really good and filling for about $7.
My coworker ordered the Seafood and Tofu hotpot which came with a mix of shrimp, mussels, and squid, as well as egg, bean noodles, and also rice. We found it odd to have noodles and rice, but it worked. It came boiling hot, and tasted delicious. Also cheap at just $6.25.
I would stop here regularly if it wasn’t so busy during the cold season. The food will definitely warm you up.
