On my last visit to Seattle, my friends brought me to Geraldine’s Counter Restaurant for breakfast. It is currently their favourite breakfast spot in Columbia City.
This place is really popular. We were lucky that we only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table (they won’t seat you until everyone is there!). Biscuits here were highly recommended by my friends, so I got an order of biscuits and gravy that came with 2 eggs of any style and hash browns. The pork sausage gravy as surprisingly light, and it was delicious with the buttery biscuits.
The best things I had that morning wasn’t the biscuits and gravy. They were Geraldine’s Casserole and homemade coffee cake. The casserole was amazing. baked with layers of hash browns, sausage, pepperjack, cheddar, eggs and cream. So creamy and so tasty.
The top of the coffee cake was very interesting. It was like a cross between a pie crust and a crumble. The cake itself was amazing, served warm, it was super moist and buttery.
This was a cool and relaxing place that has some very delicious food and friendly staff. No wonder it’s always so busy! Coffee cake, a must get.
