Crepe Des Amis in New Westminister’s River Market is a great place to get delicious crepes outside of downtown Vancouver.
I was here for brunch and got myself a special of the day crepe with sausages, maple syrup and cheese, what an awesome combination of sweet and savory. The crepe was freshly prepared with just the right amount of gooey mozzarella. The portion of salty turkey sausage and maple syrup was perfect to balance each other out. The crepe itself was thin but not over cooked. It was the best choice of me at the moment as I was deciding between a sweet crepe or a savory crepe.
My friend had the Toulouse, which was turkey, spinach and cheese. It was a light tasting crepe as you would only get a bit of saltiness from the turkey. It’s a good crepe to grab and go because it can be eaten quite neatly without things falling out.
I really liked this place. The menu had lots of unique flavors that you won’t find in Cafe Crepe. There’s also lots of daily specials. The owner was very friendly and talkative, don’t be afraid to chat or practice french with him while he makes your crepe.
