Bouchon in Napa Valley, was one of my favourite birthday’s ever. The next morning, we went back just to have some pastries from their bakery. I was happy to see that there were a couple of Bouchon Bakery locations in Manhattan as well.
I visited the bakery early Wednesday morning before our conference. It actually doesn’t open until 8AM, so I was a little bit early. It’s located at the shops at Columbus Circle and is a just a fairly small stall with lots of delicious pastries. On this trip, I ordered a Chocolate Croissant, Raspberry Almond Croissant, and an Almond Brioche to share with my friends. We also got a macaroon too, but I’m not sure which flavour.
I chose the chocolate croissant. It was airy, flakey, crisp, and the chocolate was rich and decadent. It was awesome to say the least. The raspberry almond croissant was also awesome. The jam just went so well with the almonds and the flaky croissant. The brioche supposedly was just OK. It was crisp and flakey but the other two were better.
Whenever I see a Bouchon Bakery, I’ll try to stop by. There’s also another location at Rockerfeller Plaza but when we went the line was out the door.
