Aldo’s Pasta Bar

I had a strong craving for pasta the other day and made spontaneous decision to checkout Aldo’s Pasta Bar in New Westminster.

The restaurant was quite empty on a week night, which made it a nice and quiet place to have a relaxing dinner. At the table I shared a very nice calamari salad  with my friend. Every ingredient in the salad was fresh, and I especially liked how the tomato was fresh too. The dressing was tangy, and the marinated calamari was very nice as well. I really recommend getting this salad like the waiter did.

For pasta, the Pancetta e Funghi with penne, an Alfredo sauced pasta with pancetta and mushrooms was amazing. This creamy pasta had very nice mushrooms and ham that were perfectly cooked and portioned with the al dante noodles. I felt very happy eating this.

The pasta my friend got was Penne al Forno, a baked pasta in meat sauce and Italian sausages suggested by the waiter. This pasta was great too, but wasn’t as awesome as the pancetta e funghi. There was a large amount of mozzarella melted on top of it, so cheese lover would sure enjoy this a lot.

Great food and nice quiet atmosphere, this is probably my go to place for Italian food now.
