I’m Alex with Shaka Shaka Squid, one of the new food vendors at this years Richmond Night Market (Riverrock location). I enjoyed following your blog and I would like to welcome you to try some of our food if you ever find yourself in the Richmond area.

We started Shaka Shaka Squid with four friends, (Alex, Wilhelm, Aubi & Ray) and our mission statement is to provide a fun experience for our guests at the night market. We strive to provide quality tasting, consistent deep fried squid and also maintain a friendly and engaging environment for our guests. We achieve this by socializing with our visitors and often taking photos with returning customers with the use of social media (facebook and instagram).

Our deep fried squid comes in three flavors; Shaka (Original Salt and Pepper), Sweet Seaweed & Spicy. I highly recommend trying our sweet seaweed as its a bit different from what the night markets have offered in the past.

Please come by our booth #F7 and try out a large order of our deep fried squid on the house. Just mention your name and blog.
When you decide to pop by and and give our squid a try, we would appreciate it if you would give us some feed back and perhaps include a review of our food.

Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

    Alex L,
    Partner – Shaka Shaka Squid

My name is Ryan Perkins and I work for Heylets, a brand new iPhone app, which launched in Australia this past November. We’ll be launching in Canada in a few days and in the U.S. shortly thereafter.

HeyLets allows you to add tweet-sized recommendations and a picture of your favourite places, whether it be an awesome cocktail lounge, your favourite hiking trail, or a serendipitous street performer. The goal is to connect people with similar interests through sharing experiences.

We have a select few positions open for Founding Members in Canada and we would love for you to be one of them. Your blog has a lot of great content! Your followers take great pleasure in knowing what you’re up to.. HeyLets is an amazing platform that allows you to further connect with your followers.

As a founding member, we’ll ensure that every new user in your area will automatically follow you, building your brand and exposure, and allowing you to post positive tweet length experiences while you are out and about! Like I said above, we think you would be a great fit for the position.

The best way to fully experience the app’s functions and features would really be to download it on your iPhone using this link:

Just wanted to share with you our Fringe show ‘INDUSTRY: the Food Must Go Out’ cause it’s pretty cool, and we believe Globe and Mail readers will get a real kick out of it, as it’s local, 100% unique and involves local food and wine.

It’s a show about the restaurant industry and it’s performed in an actual restaurant! Edible Canada Bistro on Granville Island to be exact, and it stars 3 award winning comedians who also ‘actually’ work at Edible Canada. A comedians we have collectively earned over ten 5 star reviews with our previous Fringe shows.

A show like this has never been done before. It’s a comedy but it is also an ode to all the hard working Industry workers of Vancouver. The bar will be open during the show for some cheap late night drinks and there will be a small opportunity for an audience member to get a delicious plate of food during the show made by Chef Nik.

Happy to send a press release and photos!

Thank you for you thoughtful consideration,

    Hi there,

My name is Vanessa and I am the social media/advertising manager @ Frites – “Fries with Benefits.” I have just perused your blog, I really enjoyed your honest and detailed reviews of some of the best restaurants that Vancouver has to offer.

With that being said, I was wondering if you’d be interested in scheduling a tasting with us at Frites. We offer authentic Belgian cut fries paired with your choice of over twenty different gourmet sauces. Or, perhaps you’d like to try a double layered poutine, or our signature waffle fry sandwiches!

Additionally, we also provide various vegetarian and gluten free options – all made with domestically purchased products. I can guarantee we will change your relationship with fries!

We are located on 1011 Granville Street. Find us on Facebook and Twitter!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
