I was told by a few people to check out Salt Lick Bar-B-Que, however there was none close to where I was staying. They have quite a few locations in Austin, so I decided to try it at the airport on my way home.
After a day of shopping at Round Rock Premium Outlets, we were too tired to go back to downtown Austin for some food. So we drove around our hotel looking for a place to eat. We were kind of missing Asian food so we decided to try out Michi Ramen.
We wanted to go shopping in Austin, so we went to the South Congress area to check out their boutique shops. In that area was also Ms. P’s Electric Cock who specialize in Fried Chicken and Waffles.
I watched the Austin episode of No Reservations shortly before my trip, and I knew I had to try the best BBQ in Austin. Both Franklin’s and John Mueller’s were on the show, and I had to at least try one. It didn’t disappoint in the least bit.
Finally met up with GourmetFury for Happy Hour at Searsucker in Austin. Lots of places have happy hour between 3 and 6PM with lots of good cheap eats and drinks. This restaurant is one of them.
Foreign & Domestic was my coworkers choice. We had to go on Tuesday because they have cheap $2 beers, and also $1 fresh shucked oysters.
After dinner at Qui, we still wanted to go out for some beers, so we walked over to Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden because they have about 100 different beers on tap. I also lost a bit, so my punishment was lots of beer.
This was the meal I was looking forward to, just because Qui belongs to the Top Chef Texas winner Paul Qui. The menu features lots of fancy takes on traditional Filipino dishes.
