Restaurants in Victoria, BC
The VANEATS.ca crew were kind enough to let us preview one of their latest dining packages at DD Mau called Give Me Mau! I’ve wanted to have a Vietnamese sandwich from DD Mau for a while now, but haven’t had the chance. Beipas tried it before and said it was pretty good. I stopped once to try an avocado smoothie.
Mo:le was the first stop on my trip to Victoria. It’s one of the higher rated breakfast joints in Victoria, so I wanted to try it out. After taking the early Heli Jet over to Victoria, and dropping off our luggage, we went straight here to have our first meal of the day. The line up wasn’t too bad at about 10AM. When we got inside, we were immediately hit by the smell of curry. Curry? Breakfast? The curry tofu scramble seems like a pretty weird dish for breakfast. The smell filled the entire restaurant.
We were wanting some cupcakes and when we did a search, we found quite a bit. However, we ended up going to Pink Sugar Cupcakery that we found as we were walking around Downtown Victoria. It’s a pretty small shop, and the girls working were just surfing on their computer. It didn’t seem very busy at all.
Pagliacci’s is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Victoria. We went in earlier in the day to try to book a reservation, but they don’t take reservations for parties smaller than 6 on Saturdays. When we got there at around 7, the line went out the front door, and it really reminded me of Anton’s here in Vancouver. The line was quite long and was packed inside, but it moved pretty fast. They really make use of every square inch of space. Really crowded.
Sunday was a pretty cold rainy day, so we decided to go for some pho to warm us up before we headed back to Vancouver. Again, we relied on Urban Spoon to check which place to go to, and Pho Vy was top on the list. This place was really busy at lunch time, so that was a good sign. It’s popular.
Hernande’z is the top rated restaurant in Victoria on Urban Spoon, so I had to visit it on my trip last weekend. I visited their website and there are huge warnings for people with peanut allergies. Supposedly there could be peanuts in everything because they push out food fast, and peanuts may get into the food. Sucks for me =(.. but I took one for the team, and risked my life to try possibly the best tacos in BC.
