Nong Chinese Restaurant is the second group dinner that we attended with the Chinese Bites crew. It used to be called The One, as can still be seen with some of their dinnerware. I was thankful to attend this one because we were served a huge amount of meat dishes.

This wasn’t really a planned trip, but we were walking downtown trying to think of a place to eat dinner. I recently saw the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives episode with Peaceful Restaurant and I remembered there was one located downtown on Davie, so we decided to walk over there. As we got there, we noticed their sign say New Peace. Did they call it New Peace because this is the second location?

After the Minami Grand Opening Party, I was still a bit hungry since I couldn’t eat much. The place was packed, and had mostly seafood, but still had a good time. A friend and I decided to go eat a bit more, so we decided on Caché Bistro & Lounge. They took over the old Charm Modern Thai space, and serve French and Asian inspired food.

I was craving for some tongue numbing spicy food for about a week or so, and I got some friends to go visit Nine Dishes with me. I picked this place because almost every dishes on their menu seem to have the spice level that I was craving for.

I went to grab dinner at Well Tea‘s downtown location last week. It was my first time visiting this multi-location bubble tea and Taiwanese restaurant.

I am really not familiar with Hong Kong Style Cafes. Golden Oscar Cafe & Restaurant was probably the second one I’ve ever been to.

Yup this take 3. Why? Well one was written a few months ago, and then due to the bad review, the owner invited the writer to try the food the way it was intended, but that review is still pending (he’s slow and late-deep).

Last weekend my friends and I went to Li Garden for some Sunday brunch. Like every other Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum during the day, it was really busy, but I didn’t end up waiting for too long for a table.

Once in a while this question always comes up at midnight: where can we get food?
Tea Work is a spot I discover recently that conveniently opens til 2am daily. I was there for a very late dinner, and the fact that this was a Taiwanese restaurant, I was more interested in getting little dishes than an actual entrée.

Last week I went to Sha Lin Noodle House for lunch. I wanted to go there because I wanted to get those pan fried dumplings my friends have been talking about. Actually, I’ve had them once, years ago, but I don’t remember how they tasted like. And when I got there for lunch, I looked at the menu, and it said ‘Pan fried dumplings only avaliable for dinner’. What a burn.

I’ve known about Goldfish Pacific Kitchen as it has been in the Taste of Yaletown for the past few years. I finally got to go for my mom’s and brother’s joint birthday dinner. As we arrived we noticed that they had an engagement party completely with bunny ears. Anyway, the restaurant looks really cool and trendy. The decor is really nice, and the restaurant is actually quite big. I think they had an outdoor room in the back with white sofas…or at least it looked open.
