Healthy Monkey

Healthy Monkey is a little cafe in South Surrey serving organic deli and super foods. Interested in seeing what they got, I made my way out there for brunch.

Neptune Seafood Restaurant, Surrey

Neptune Seafood Restaurant is the newest Chinese restaurant in Surrey Central. I visited on their opening day for dim sum, and quickly learned that this was a branch of their Richmond location. The atmosphere is very much like a typical Chinese restaurant in Richmond, very fancy, and grand, probably the first of its kind in Surrey.

Wild Wing

Wild Wing, a popular franchise restaurant in Ontario, opened it’s first BC location in Surrey a couple weeks ago. This place is really good for watching sports because there have lots of TVs all around the restaurant. We were there for UFC 159, and were super lucky to be seated right away at the packed restaurant; totally walked it at the right time.

Sushi Zen

After a nice run at Tynehead Park, we needed some good food to recover. Sushi Zen is about 10 minutes away from that area and kind of on the way home. It was an awesome choice.

King Do Seafood Restaurant

King Do is kind of becoming a family favourite of ours, as there aren’t many good choices for Chinese food in Surrey, especially those that offer dim sum (and peking duck). They hosted my nephew’s baptism lunch last month, and we went back for a family lunch this past Easter weekend.

Greek Village

I have been craving roast lamb for quite a long time now, so this past weekend I was happy when Beipas said she wanted Greek food. Greek Village is one of the many places we haven’t been to in the Surrey-Delta area.

Dasarang Chicken, Surrey

I was happy to see a Dasarang Chicken in Guilford beside another Korean restaurant. I had the chance to visit the location in Burnaby on North Road this past summer, and we really enjoyed it. It seemed like a good alternative to our Mega Mug – Raage nights at Guu.

Taste Nice Caribbean Restaurant

We learned about Taste Nice a long time ago. We tried going one time, but it’s closed on Sundays. This time we went during dinner time on a regular week day. The place wasn’t busy at that point, and I guess their main busy hours are during lunch time.The owners are very friendly, and the people who came by seemed to know them very well, and though some were white kept saying “mon”.

Pho Tau Bay, Newton

I’m so glad that our beloved Pho Tau Bay opened a second location in Surrey. The new location opened this month is a lot nicer than the old place.

Taqueria Jalisco

I found out about Taqueria Jalisco from a quick search on Yelp when I needed a spot to go for lunch, and what a find this place was! I can’t believe all this time, we have an awesome and authentic mexican restaurant right in Surrey.

Chef’s Kebab

Chef Kebab, located almost in the middle of nowhere in Surrey/Delta area, and if it wasn’t for the internet, I would never had known it existed.

Gulberg Fine Cuisine

Gulberg Fine Cuisine is an Indian-Pakistani restaurant in the Fleetwood area of Surrey. Looking at the menu, I thought I wouldn’t recognize many of the dishes, but many were the same as what you would find in any other Indian restaurant. I’m not familiar at all with Pakistani cuisine, so I’m not sure how much different it is from Indian food.
