<p>The last day was just as hard as the first! It&#8217;s just the knowing of tomorrow I get to ease back into normal food just gets me too excited.</p>
<p>I almost wanted to give up at mid day thinking what difference would it make if I stop half a day short. But, I can&#8217;t let the past 4.5 days go to waste, I held it out, and I survived.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s my last day of the reset:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Breakfast: Strawberry shake and health pack</span></p>
<p>I had 3 chocolate shakes left, but drinking chocolate all day is just silly. I&#8217;d still prefer strawberry over chocolate for breakfast.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Day Snack: oatmeal bar</span></p>
<p>The last oatmeal bar of the reset. I made myself to eat this bar because I was going for a bike ride after. I needed the energy.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Exercise: 20 min easy bike riding</span></p>
<p>My friends and I rode our bikes around the neighbourhood taking bbt orders from our friends, only to find we didn&#8217;t have time to actually go buy them. It was fun showing up at people&#8217;s house randomly though.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lunch: Skipped</span></p>
<p>First meal I ever skipped. I didn&#8217;t have a lunch shake today. After bike riding I wasn&#8217;t particularly hungry  or in the mood for a shake, and I opted for fruit snacks instead.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Afternoon Snacks: Blueberries, peanut butter bar and tons of water</span></p>
<p>This was the time when I was thinking about cutting the reset short. Knowing I have one last shake left to drink kind of dreads me.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Dinner: Chocolate Shake</span></p>
<p>Last shake ever! w00t! The chocolate shake did it&#8217;s job as usual. I was full after the drink, and my cravings went away immediately.</p>
<p>I did it! My first ever body cleanse. It was not easy, and I am not sure if I want to do this again any time soon. It was kind of hardcore. The first and the last days were the hardest for me.</p>
<p>I woke up this morning (day 6) feeling great. I am in the good mood because I followed the program and completed it. I am in the good mood because I get to eat normal food again. This program definitely put me in a good habit of drinking water constantly.</p>
<p>In terms of how I feel physically, I feel normal. Except the first day, I havent&#8217; had any crashes after a meal or during any time of the day. Other than that I can&#8217;t tell the difference, but maybe I will be able to in the next couple weeks.</p>
<p>In terms of weight loss. I lost a total of&#8230; dun dun dun!&#8230; 3.2 lbs. I weight myself everyday, and it was an up and down process. I&#8217;d lose 2 lbs in a day, and I&#8217;ll gain 1 back the next. I wish my scale wasn&#8217;t broken on measuring body fat, muscles, and water %, because I&#8217;d really like to know if the weight I lost were just water weights.</p>
<p>Body cleanse program completed! I hope my organs are happy now.</p>

<p>This is getting easier.</p>
<p>I had quite a busy schedule today, it&#8217;s kind of neat that I could pack my lunch, dinner and snacks all in my laptop bag.</p>
<p>My energy level was still good today. I think I average 7-8 hours of sleep during this reset, a couple hours more than usual. That could probably be one of the reasons I didn&#8217;t need any caffeine to get me through the day.</p>
<p>This is day 4.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Breakfast: Strawberry shake, health pack</span></p>
<p>The usual breakfast.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Day Snack: Oatmeal bar</span></p>
<p>Today I ate this bar not because I wanted to chew, but because I got hungry. That was a first in 4 days.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lunch: Chocolate Shake</span></p>
<p>Yup! Chocolate Shake! No vanilla. My friend had some extra chocolate shake laying around, I took that instead.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Afternoon snack: cherry tomatoes, half of peanut butter bar</span></p>
<p>I got hungry again! This is weird. The snacks were able to last me until dinner.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Exercise: 15 min bike riding</span></p>
<p>This was supposed to be a 1 hour bike ride along the seawall, but it was cut short because my friend had a head on collision with another biker. I saw both of them flew in front of me when it happened, pretty crazy. Lesson learned: Keep your heads up and eyes forward when biking!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Dinner: Chocolate shake, health pack, the rest of peanut butter bar, frozen grapes</span></p>
<p>The usual dinner. This time I almost forgot to take the health pack. Frozen grapes are pretty awesome.</p>
<p>Just 1 more day to go, booya! Fighting off temptations today was really easy. I was able to watch other people cook and eat, sit in the same kitchen where people made banana breads. Normally the smell of baked goods would just get me, but not today! Maybe the day after tomorrow.</p>

<p>I kind of felt great today, knowing there&#8217;s only going to be 2 days left after today. I&#8217;m almost there!</p>
<p>So it has been 3 days, I did notice a slight drop of weight. In terms what how I feel overall, I feel pretty normal. My energy level is good, I can get through the day without naps or coffee.</p>
<p>I drink a lot more water than usual, not because I am forcing myself to, my body just wants me to. This is a good change, because I normally drink more coffee in a day than water.</p>
<p>Writing food reviews got easier, but that&#8217;s probably because I was writing something I didn&#8217;t really enjoy eating.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the dirt on day 3:</p>

<p>I&#8217;m liking strawberry more and more now.</p>

<p>Almost wanted to skip this meal again. But still forced myself to drink it. I still don&#8217;t like vanilla.</p>

<p>I am so glad I did this in the summer when most of the yummy fruits are in season. Fresh produce rocks.</p>

<p>I was kind of looking forward to the chocolate shake. Chocolatey dinner is always good.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Exercise: 1 hour at driving range</span></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been more than a month since I went to a driving range. I felt kind of rusty, but it always feels good to whack some balls as hard as I can.</p>
<p>Day 3 is done! So excited. I only got cravings twice today. Once was when a friend messaged me about celebratory meal after all this is done. And the other time was late night when I got hungry. I was craving for the steak &amp; frits with syrah wine we got from the trip to Napa.</p>

<p>The day seems a lot longer when I am on Usana Reset.</p>
<p>I wish I could have a vietnamese sub, and a bowl of sodium filled ramen noodles would be real nice right now. I wish today was day 5.</p>
<p>wishful thinking, wishful thinking.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how my day 2 goes down:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Breakfast: Strawberry shake and health pack</span></p>
<p>The strawberry shake went down a lot better today. It didn&#8217;t taste as artificial as the day before, could this mean I am used to the taste?</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Day Snack: Oatmeal Bar</span></p>
<p>Around 12pm, I started munching on the oatmeal bar. Again, it wasn&#8217;t like I was hungry, I just wanted to chew something. This oatmeal bar took me about 30mins to finish.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lunch: Vanilla Shake</span></p>
<p>I was thinking of skipping this meal because I just wasn&#8217;t hungry. I made myself the shake anyway, thinking skipping this meal will only make me eat my dinner earlier, and therefore mess up my eating schedule. I better stick to the program.</p>
<p>I was thinking, since strawberry tasted good this morning, the rest should be ok. The vanilla shake tasted worse than the day before. Not sure what it was, but I didn&#8217;t like it today at all.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Exercise: Walking dog in Bear Creek Park trying to find Matt Damon filming a movie</span></p>
<p>I walked for about 40mins. I saw a helicopter flying up and down, saw the film crew, no Matt Damon was sighted. <img src='http://www.meplusfood.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Afternoon Snack: Half a peanut butter bar, one whole grapefruit</span></p>
<p>It&#8217;s official, the peanut butter bar is my favorite item in the reset kit. It&#8217;s delicious. Grapefruit was amazing, again favorite part of my day, eating fresh produce.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Dinner: Chocolate shake, the rest of peanut butter bar, health pack</span></p>
<p>Chocolate shake still tastes the best out of all 3 flavors. One of the things I really don&#8217;t like about the reset kit is the pungent vitamins I got to take. I just don&#8217;t like the after taste, but today I found a solution. I took them with my chocolate shake. No vitamin after taste lingering in my mouth, just chocolate, awesome!</p>
<p>Day 2 felt really long, but it wasn&#8217;t as bad as day 1. It doesn&#8217;t feel like I am on a body cleanse or even a weight loss program because I am eating so constantly. Except when I think about what I should have for the next meal, I&#8217;d get reminded that I can only eat whats given in the kit and a couple servings of fresh fruit.</p>
<p>Day 2&#8242;s challenge was the thought of doing it for another 3 days. Mind over matter. I can do this&#8230;. right?</p>

<p>I never got around to the reset kit until now, because I had too many food outings already planned. There was birthdays, graduations, more birthdays, etc etc. Then I went on an unexpected trip to Asia eating all kinds of yummy asia food I could eat 24/7.</p>
<p>This reset program takes a total of 5 days, and I tell you, setting yourself up to 5 days of shakes and nutrition bars is not easy, especially when you are a food blogger.</p>
<p>I got home a couple weeks ago, and before my food schedule gets busy again, I thought this was the time to do it.</p>
<p>I have been eating a month of really good food, but they were also junk foods. They were everything deep fried, preserved, high MSG, etc. My body needs a cleanse. Will I really shed 5 lbs after 5 days? We&#8217;ll see.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how my day 1 of high-fiber cleanse goes:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Breakfast: Strawberry shake and health pack</span></p>
<p>Breakfast thoughts: Strawberry shake was very sweet, and had an artificial after taste, but I can get over it&#8230;or will I? I also didn&#8217;t finish the shake, I tried, but it was too filling.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Day Snack: Half an oatmeal bar</span></p>
<p>Around 11am I started to feel a little snacky. Not hungry, but just wanted to chew something. The oatmeal bar was not bad.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lunch: Vanilla shake</span></p>
<p>The vanilla shake was better than the strawberry shake taste wise. I also tried to finish it this time, but I also got full before I could.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Afternoon Snacks: the rest of oatmeal bar, blueberries</span></p>
<p>Between 2-5pm was the worst for me, self control was put to the test. I wasn&#8217;t hungry, but I just wanted to eat anything that was not sweet. I had some fresh blueberries around, and they were so delicious. This was the time when I really appreciated all natural foods. I probably had more than suggested fruit serving amount munching on those blueberries.</p>
<p>I crave coffee.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Exercise: 1 hr Bike Ride, Snack: Half a peanut butter bar</span></p>
<p>The peanut butter bar tastes way better than the oatmeal bar. I like it. Bike riding hurts my butt.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Dinner: Chocolate Shake, Rest of peanut butter bar, health pack</span></p>
<p>I was extremely hungry  after my bike ride. I pretty much downed the whole shake. Chocolate shake tastes the best out of all 3 flavors, and much more tasty with super cold water. No hungry feeling surfaced again until probably around 11pm.</p>
<p>12am: I crave mexican food, laksa.</p>

<p>So day 1 was done. I ate all the provided Usana shakes, bars and health packs I was supposed to eat in a day. I found the day to be fine if I was pre-occupied with things to do. The cravings only came when I&#8217;m taking a break. Eating those blueberries was my favorite part of the day, unprocessed foods are the best.</p>
<p>Day 1 is about surviving, 4 more days to go.</p>

<p><strong>Uni-President Pudding</strong> is the one dessert I could never ever get sick of eating.  I grew up with this stuff and I still love it until this day.</p>
<p>What are these things? Imagine flan, but lighter in texture and taste. It&#8217;s the Asian version of flan in other words. It consists of 2 parts, the yellow egg custard and the dark brown caramel at the bottom. The yellow custard part is very very soft, silky and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">very very smooth</span>. The dark brown caramel part doesn&#8217;t have a strong caramel taste, instead it is a lot sweeter than the yellow part.</p>
<p>This is a pudding with its own unique taste. There are a lot of other companies making this kind of pudding in Asia, but none as good as this. It comes with its uniquely shaped cup that is the perfect serving size to satisfy your sweet tooth, although I always end up eating 2 at a time. They also come with their own little spoon, so you are good to eat it wherever you go. Asian marketing skills, brilliant.</p>
<p>There are a lot of ways to eat it. You can open it and eat it as is, or you can try to flip it upside down onto a plate that was made famous on their commercials. I personally tried stirring everything together, freezing them and flip them upside down while they&#8217;re still in the cup. Does it taste different? No, but it&#8217;s fun!</p>
<p>You can also eat them with Asian shaved ice desserts, they&#8217;re so so yummy with shaved ice and condensed milk.</p>
<p>Where can you get these? Taiwan. Yes, Taiwan. I&#8217;m actually really surprised that T&amp;T supermarket, or other big Asian supermarkets don&#8217;t carry these, because these are so good!</p>
<p>If you ever get the chance to visit Taiwan, you HAVE to try these. They&#8217;re not hard to find in Taiwan, any 7-11 or grocery stores carry them.</p>
